Family Specialist
Mr. Augie Gutierrez
Hello, my name is Agustin Gutierrez I am the Family Specialist at Royal Ridge Elementary School. Prior to becoming a Family Specialist I was a math teacher at Krueger Middle School for 12 years. Before joining the educational field I sold house paint for several companies for 17 years. I am also a very proud veteran as I served 5 years in the US Navy. I decided to become a family specialist because of how much I wanted to help my students and their families. It is an honor to serve them and you in any way possible. I look forward to working with my students, their families, the faculty, staff and the community around Royal Ridge Elementary. I am bringing to this role an open mind and a energetic enthusiastic attitude. The dedication I have shown in serving my country, customers and my students for all these years is only the beginning. I have the backing of my lovely wife, Christine that I married back in 1992, and my son who proudly serves as an SAFD fireman.

Family Engagement creates and sustains partnerships with students, families, and the community to ensure high levels of learning for all.
Family Specialists
Family Specialists are available to all NEISD families. They assist in various ways, such as:
provide families with information from the district, community agencies, city and state institutions, and any other organizations that might benefit those with specific needs;
- facilitate and conduct parent-education classes, counseling and mentoring;
- assist students and families to reach their maximum educational benefits;
- provide support to those who are in an emotional or financial crisis.
Family Engagement Courses
Family Engagement Course are free to all parents, grandparents, or community members. Participants are offered information on a wide variety of subjects.
